LOCATION:  Denver, CO
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating tractor trailer combinations including end dump, side dump and other material hauling trailers up to 80,000 lbs.The duties will include, but not limited to, operation of tractor/trailer combinations including belly, side, and end dump trailers associated with delivery of excavation materials to projects and identification of needed preventative maintenance of operated equipment.  Hours of operation for this position regularly run from 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Overtime and weekend duty is a necessary and expected part of this position. 

REQUIREMENTS
  • This position requires a minimum of 3 years experience as a Class A CDL truck driver operating end dump/side dump trailers.  
  • Class A CDL - must have safe and relatively clean driving record
  • Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Must have a strong safety record
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
 
Ability to operate various tractor-trailer combinations, tandem axle trucks and/or water trucks. 
Individual must possess a valid Class A, Commercial Drivers License with an acceptable motor vehicle record. Ability to safely operate various trailer types including lowboy, flatbed, side dump, belly dump, end dump and roll-off trailers.
Individual must also be able to communicate as a front-line coordinator with customer and foreman or general superintendent.
Personal skills must include good verbal and written communication ability with appropriate command of the English language.
Must be a skilled organizer with the ability to manage multiple tasks at any time.
Must be able to operate vehicles in high traffic areas including on-road and off-road traffic.

WORKING CONDITIONS
 
Work is primarily performed inside a climate controlled cab for 8-12 hours per day 6 days per week and sometimes Sunday.  Other working conditions include working outside and above ground under a variety of weather conditions for the entire workday. 
Duties may require constant exposure to dirt, mud, grease, noise, odors, smoke, and fumes with a requirement to wear protective clothing. 
Duties may require exposure to the possibility of receiving cuts, burns, bruises, and sprains. 
Duties require the ability to effectively handle the stress of traffic and meeting schedules. 
Uses safety equipment such as protective ear devices, hard hats, work boots, and protective orange vests.  Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear or use and may be worn or used for long periods of time.
